"A pitch-perfect, guilty-pleasure serving of late-summer schlock that handily nails the tongue-in-cheek spirit of the Roger Corman original." -The Hollywood Reporter

Season of the Witch

I've shifted gears to another show this past week, it involves Nicolas Cage, Ron Perlman, Christopher Lee, & some creepy young witch (Claire Foy) Season of the Witch. Will be responsible for some added witchy'ness as well as some other fun stuff... I'm not sure when it will hit theaters, but the poster says it came out this past March, evidently this project has had some snags along the way.

"The supernatural thriller with Nicolas Cage was anticipated to open earlier this year. It was then pushed to an undetermined date. Production Weekly is reporting today that the film is undergoing some re-shoots, or additional shooting, at the beginning of September.

Joining Cage in the film are Ron Perlman, Stephen Campbell, Robert Sheehan and Claire Foy. You can watch two trailers here." (shocktilyoudrop.com)

"Now that Lionsgate is focusing its sole attention on The Last Exorcism, Dominic Sena's Gothic horror film Season of the Witch has been put on the back-burner. Production Weekly is reporting that Lionsgate has commenced some additional photography (they're calling it reshoots) for the beginning of September in Shreveport. Early screenings have said to have gone "good", but not "great". There's nothing wrong with beefing up a movie if you ask me. In the film Nicolas Cage stars as a 14th century Crusader who returns with his comrade to a homeland devastated by the Black Plague. A beleaguered church, deeming sorcery the culprit of the plague, commands the two knights to transport an accused witch to a remote abbey, where monks will perform a ritual in hopes of ending the pestilence."
